  • Please Note: At the AGM held on the 30th of March, it was decided by Committee and Members that the 2007/2008 season points all be Cancelled and all nominations for annual awards be carried over to the 2008/2009 season. Those members campaigning for their Diamond Award 2008/2009 will now become your consecutive year.

Please note the change of date of our A.G.M., due to the changing the date of the summer royal and as our members have entered. We have changed the date of our A.G.M. to Sunday, the 30th March at the Bendigo Showground's, starting at 1pm.

We would like to see you there and catch up as we couldn't have our own show to do so because of the E.I. outbreak.

Reminder to all members that the highpoint awards will be announced at the A.G.M.

Photo's of the palomino ring at the Baratoc Horse of the year show are on the results page, we are still waiting for the official results. They will be published as soon as they arrive.

WILL BE JUDGED  AS 3YO AT THE 2008 SHOW

It also has the manual registration form referred to in this release.  However individuals would be encouraged to register directly on line where possible.  The purpose of the form is for people who do not have access to a computer.
Please forward this to you clubs and members as you see fit and publish on your web sites.
It is very important we this message out to horse owners to register.

Committee Meeting News

1. Annual General meeting to be held the 16th March 2008

 2. Due to the high uncertainty of Equine Influenza, the committee has decided, at the meeting held the 16th of September to cancel the classification day that was to be held at Goldmine Stud on the 1st of October, anyone with concerns about classification can contact the classification co-ordinator Mrs Jan Lovett on 03 97443256 or the Secretary Mrs Lola Milne on 03 58222778

3. A.P.H.A. Inc., Championship Show - The Committee after lengthy discussions has decided to hold off on making a decision on the faith of the show (re-Equine Influenza) until the meeting to be held on the 11th of Nov. Members are encouraged to check the news page regularly for updates.

Introduction of Appendix Section

The Appendix section of the A.P.H.A caters for the

Following categories:

a.       Appendix Stallion

b.       Appendix Mare

   An Appendix shall be an animal that meets the conformation requirements of our standard of excellence prescribed by the Association.

a.       Be of dilute colour, allowing for excessive white Markings

b.       No animal is eligible for Appendix registration which possesses markings or conditions characteristic of a        Appaloosa, Palouse, Spotted pony or derivatives thereof.

c.       The Australian Palomino Horse breeders Association Inc., Rules & Regulations apply to all animals entered in the Appendix Section.  Eg: Membership, Transfers & Leases, Branding etc.

d.       An Appendix registration is not a full registration, Animals entered into this section are not eligible tobe shown in Palomino classes. 

Plaited manes and False Tails

A Palomino horse maybe plaited except at State Championship shows and Shows that state manes and tails are to be free & flowing on programs.  In the mane and tail class the judge may request the exhibitor to undo a number of plaits.  It is permissible to cut or clip back at the poll a short length of the mane to present a neat appearance to the set of the head. Bleached, Dyed and hogged mane are not acceptable. False tails are permitted in all led classes, EXCEPT for the mane and tail class and APHA Championships
